Stacy Riggs and Heather Linscott, administrators of the USNA Class of 2022 BLB Parents Facebook page, are in the final stages of organizing a Youngster Mom’s Weekend in Annapolis the weekend of February 21st. Commissioning 101: Everything You Need to Know

Attention First Class Midshipman Parents! In partnership with the Naval Academy Alumni Association and the parent clubs of Maryland and Northern Virginia, this year’s Commissioning 101 event will be held on February 15, 2020 from 9:30am to 2:30pm at The Byzantium in Annapolis at 2747 Riva Road.
Commissioning 101 is an information session that is designed for parents of First Class Midshipman, but anyone who wants to learn more about what happens during commissioning week is welcome to attend. You’ll get an overview of the week-long program including details about house rentals, catering, photography, logistics on graduation day, etc. as well as information from local vendors and suggestions compiled from parents and sponsors over the years.
This event is free but all attendees are required to RSVP to get an accurate guest count. Visit the Commissioning 101 Facebook Event online to submit your RSVP.
NoVA Parents Club’s “Firstie Dinner” Set for April 16th

Attention Firstie Families! Mark Your Calendars: The Firstie Dinner, scheduled for April 16, 2020, will be for NoVA Club Firsties and their families in celebration of four years at the Academy and the impeding launch of the Firstie’s naval career. Held at the Naval Academy Club on the Yard, the evening will start with cocktails at 6:30pm, followed by dinner from 7:15pm until 9pm. There will be a speaker and presentation to Firsties of U.S flags that were flown over the Capital or Navy Memorial on their I-Day nearly four years earlier. All Firstie families should mark their calendars and plan to attend. More detailed information on how to sign up will follow.
Army-Navy Game, Alumni Association Tailgate

If you have tickets to the Army-Navy game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on December 14, you might be interested in the Alumni Association’s bus and/or tailgate. The tailgate is an indoor (i.e. warm) event that is held at the Wells Fargo Center, right by the football stadium. You can purchase tickets at the USNA Alumni Association Events page.

Navy vs Notre Dame Game Watch Party

The club is hosting a Game Watch Party at Glory Days Grill, 3059 Nutley Street, Fairfax, Virginia in the Pan Am Shopping Center. The restaurant will seat us all together and there will be lots of television screens showing the game. This is a wonderful opportunity to socialize with other Northern Virginia families while we cheer the football team to victory over Notre Dame. Please RSVP to this event so that we can give the restaurant a head count. While each of us will be responsible for our own tab at the restaurant, the club will purchase appetizers for the group to share. (So come early!) The club also has applied to participate in the Glory Days “Dining for Dollars” fundraising program in which Glory Days Grill will donate 10% of our submitted receipts from 11/16/2019 back to the club.
